Won't these cuties look great on your Thanksgiving table?

Won’t these cuties look great on your Thanksgiving table?

I am a firm believer that food should be festive. Take these turkey cheese ball bites for example.

They are so easy, flavorful and look so pretty on a platter. The perfect nibble before the big meal.

When my kids were little, I kept them occupied on Thanksgiving Day by doing things like making home made butter. ( Which, BTW, It’s so easy and fun – and, most importantly, keeps them out of your hair while you’re cooking! See my demo on You Tube.)

Can’t wait for Turkey Day, can you?

TURKEY CHEESE BALL BITES

8 ounces light cream cheese, at room temperature
8 ounces grated favorite cheese (I used sharp white cheddar)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 green onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup of ground nuts (I like pecans for this)
1/2 cup of sliced almonds
Bits of peeled carrots, shaped like the turkey heads

Mix together the cream cheese, grated cheese, Worcestershire sauce, green onions and garlic powder. Chill for at least 30 minutes, until firm.

Remove from fridge and roll into balls that are 1 tablespoon each. Roll in ground nuts. Place on serving tray and garnish with almond slices and carrot bits – to look like turkeys!
